    Yumiko Iihoshi Porcelain's "pattern" collection, which takes the shapes and styles of traditional Japanese tableware and imbues them with a modern sensibility to suit today's diverse dining tables.

    Just as in making clothes, each piece of tableware is designed by creating individual paper patterns. These shapes are then given alphabetical names, such as A, B, C..., and after careful consideration, eight exquisite forms have been selected.

    Each piece can be used individually, of course, but by combining multiple shapes, they can freely enhance any occasion, from a casual everyday tea time to a special dining scene with a large number of guests. Furthermore, not only can they be combined, but simply by changing their orientation from vertical to horizontal, or altering their placement, the way they are used and their impression on the table can change dramatically, making them versatile pieces that offer diverse enjoyment and possibilities.
