The "in-between" (awai) from mechanical to manual industries, which is a characteristic of Echizen lacquerware, and the "in-between" (awai) of uses that a vessel can accommodate. A ceramic version has been created from "PARK," a product structured around these two "awai."
The product uses a new ceramic clay called "Seido," which is designed to prevent stains from soaking in even when fired without glaze. Furthermore, the number of firings, which usually involves at least two (bisque firing and main firing), has been reduced to one, cutting carbon dioxide emissions during firing by 40%.
In addition, it has approximately 1.5 times the strength of ordinary ceramic clay and is compatible with dishwashers, microwave ovens, and ovens. While the material becoming porcelain has strengthened its element as tableware, it can, of course, also be used for purposes other than tableware, such as a place for keys or accessories in the entryway.

"PARK" is a multi-purpose plate designed by Akihiro Kumagaya.
Its half-pipe form is inspired by the gentle partitions of lacquerware serving dishes and plates. At the dining table, it can be used as a tray, bowl, or plate. When placed around a desk, it can neatly hold scattered stationery or glasses. If placed at the entrance, it seems perfect as a "designated spot" for keys and accessories. While there are certain ways to use it like this, it sets the stage for "ingenuity = arrangements" that arise from the user's daily life.
