The pieces, formed by slip casting, maximize the beautiful natural colors of the clay itself. This work reflects their unique knowledge of materials and experimental approach, often producing products through their own hands. In addition to being an objet d'art, it can also be used as a tray for small items on your desk or at the entrance.

    The area around Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, where pottery culture began approximately 1300 years ago, boasts rich soil containing high-quality clay minerals. A characteristic of Tajimi tiles is not only their overwhelming production capacity, but also the fact that each manufacturer utilizes various forms and properties, from materials and molding to glazes. Furthermore, the traditional Japanese firing techniques, diverse glaze expressions, and the equipment and production methods that support them, remain a distinctive feature.
    Tile manufacturing, which began in the early 20th century, has now become a leading industry in Gifu Prefecture. The total production volume is the highest in Japan, and for mosaic tiles, 90% of domestic production comes from the Tajimi region.
