    TAJIMI CUSTOM TILES showcases the charm of tiles from a new perspective while utilizing the tradition and craftsmanship of Tajimi tiles. These cast-molded pieces highlight the beautiful natural color of the clay itself. This work reflects Lamb's extensive knowledge of materials and experimental approach, typical of an artist who often creates products with his own hands. It can be used as an art object, or as a tray for small items on your desk or at the entrance.

    【Tajimi Tiles】
    The area around Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, where pottery culture began approximately 1300 years ago, has rich soil containing high-quality clay minerals. A characteristic of Tajimi tiles is not only their overwhelming production capacity but also the fact that each manufacturer uses various forms and properties, from materials and molding to glazes. Furthermore, traditional Japanese firing techniques, diverse glaze expressions, and the equipment and production methods that support them still remain.
    Tile manufacturing, which began in the early 20th century, is now a representative industry of Gifu Prefecture. Its total production volume is the highest in Japan, and the Tajimi area produces 90% of all domestic mosaic tiles.
