    Beirut's first new album in four years was produced on a Norwegian island using a church organ. The silence of the Arctic plays a new rhythm of music. After his 2019 tour, Zach sought a place to recover, but was once again set back by vocal problems. In the midst of days battling disappointment and a loss of confidence, he dreamed of spending the winter in an Arctic cabin. In 2020, he traveled to Hadsel Island in Norway, where he found comfort in the cold and darkness. There, he met an organ enthusiast and began making music using a church organ. Confronting emotional breakdowns and past struggles, he spent his days amidst the island's natural beauty, laying the groundwork for his songs. Upon returning home, he continued production at his studio in Lichtenberg during the COVID lockdown, incorporating instruments like the baritone ukulele, and crafting the album with hand drums and synth sounds. This album, developed through his own approach rather than a band's, can be described as a work that awakened dormant ideas within him. His new journey begins here. Beirut A project by artist Zach Condon, originally from Virginia, USA. He started making music in his childhood, influenced by his older brother, and made his live debut at 17. Afterwards, he traveled through Europe with his brother, exploring world music and being influenced by local sounds. After meeting A Hawk and a Hacksaw, he released his debut album "Gulag Orkestar" on Ba Da Bing! Records. After releasing two more albums, he signed with 4AD and grew into a global artist. In 2019, he released his latest album "Gallipoli." In 2022, he released "Artifacts," a compilation featuring out-of-print and unreleased songs.
