A collection of works by Cuban artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres and American artist Roni Horn. In 1990, Gonzalez-Torres encountered a simple, thin gold leaf work placed on the floor of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA). It was Horn's work, "Gold Field" (1980/1982). Their exchange continued until Gonzalez-Torres' passing in 1996. This book is a photo-essay intended to share with the viewer the experiential characteristics of both artists' works and the profound underlying relationship between them. Focusing on four representative works: Gonzalez-Torres' "Untitled (For Stockholm)" (1992) and "Untitled (Blood)" (1992), and Horn's "Well and Truly" (2009-10) and "a.k.a" (2008-09), the book emphasizes the ideas of amplification through superimposition, duality, repetition, and identity presented by the two artists. The exhibition views in this work were photographed during an exhibition held at the Pinault Collection, a contemporary art museum in Paris, in 2022. Along with their radical visual vocabulary, one can sense a shared passion for words, sentences, and poetry. Two intentions emerge: to create tension between the artist, the viewer, and the work, and to attempt to understand the inexpressible and immeasurable.
