Book: BUILDINGS, DINGBATS by Sebastian Haslauer
This book introduces two series of ceramic works by the artist. Known for his paintings and collages, this two-part book is the first compilation of Haslauer's previously unexhibited sculptural ceramic works.
The first part, "Buildings," documents a series of abstract assemblage sculptures combining glossy ceramics with found objects and raw materials. These works are structured as symbolic representations of the built environment.
The second part, "Dingbats," presents a series of iconographic ceramic works that capture everyday icons from a playful and distorted perspective. Each sculpture is accompanied by a poetic text written by German author and poet Jörg Albrecht in response to the individual pieces.
This book was edited, photographed, designed, and published by Berlin-based design studio HelloMe in close collaboration with the artist.
