The "Rope Chair" has an artistic silhouette, as if it were a swaying shadow. Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, this chair is constructed by combining opposing elements: the latest technology and creative expression, a sturdy structure and a flexible backrest, and rigid, inorganic tubes with organic ropes. By applying rope to the backrest to support the weight of the sitter, it creates personalized comfort for each individual. The highly dynamic way of sitting, allowing for free changes in posture, encourages creativity. The Rope Chair, which retains the form of each person as if leaving an imprint, is born from a completely new idea, designed anew by each person who sits on it.

Paris-based designers Ronan Bouroullec (1976 - ) and Erwan Bouroullec (1971 - ) have been active for over 20 years, creating challenging and fruitful collaborations with various companies. Their work spans a wide range, from spatial and furniture design to textiles and architectural projects. What they value in their design process is sketching by hand, creating models, and communicating them through engaging imagery. Their notebooks are filled with fantastic creatures, natural scenes, and abstract images, which are the source of their unique and humorous designs. Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec launched a series with Artek in 2015 and a textile design series in 2017.
