The CHAIR 69 incorporates the L-leg technique, which is Artek's origin.
Designed in 1935, it has been a highly popular dining chair and is not only suitable for home use but also has a size that makes it easy to use as a work chair. The slightly lower backrest not only prevents the space from feeling cramped, but its comfortable curve provides support, allowing you to sit relaxed.
It is still manufactured using the same methods and has been loved by people worldwide for a long time.
Artek and the Italian design studio Formafantasma, considering the impact of contemporary climate change and industrialization on Finnish forests and timber, developed "Wild Birch," a new timber selection standard that advocates for the careful and waste-free use of wood in its natural state. As the name, which means "wild" or "natural state" in Finnish, suggests, it uses birch wood that exhibits the unique characteristics of nature based on this new timber selection standard. This is the first product born from the shared concerns, values, and continuous collaboration between Artek and Formafantasma, and it has become a new standard.
