These are from his project "Objetos de Hojalata para el Hogar," which literally translates to "Tin Objects for the Home." Fabien focused on Hojalata (tin), researched workshops that manufactured them, deepened his understanding of the industry, and built relationships with various craftspeople. Ultimately, considering the manufacturing methods and processes, he started producing specific items in several workshops. The Watering Cans are one of the results of this endeavor. It's a collection of functional household products that utilize highly valuable yet often overlooked techniques.
Fabien Cappello
Born in France in 1984, Fabien Cappello is a furniture and product designer. He studied at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, and earned his master's degree from the Royal College of Art in the UK in 2009 under the guidance of Martino Gamper and Jurgen Bey. He opened his own design studio in London in 2010. Since 2016, he has been based in Mexico City, working on various projects from commercial products to limited editions and public design.
