This collection originated from his project "Objetos de Hojalata para el Hogar," which directly translates to "Tin Objects for the Home." Fabien focused on "hojalata" (tin), researched workshops that manufactured them, and deepened his understanding of the industry while building relationships with various artisans. Ultimately, considering the manufacturing methods and processes, he began actual production of specific items in several workshops. The Watering Cans are one of the results of this endeavor. It is a collection of functional products for the home that utilizes valuable yet often overlooked techniques.
Fabien Cappello
A furniture and product designer born in France in 1984. He studied at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, and earned his master's degree from the Royal College of Art in the UK in 2009 under the tutelage of Martino Gamper and Jurgen Bey. He established his own design studio in London in 2010. Since 2016, he has been based in Mexico City, undertaking various projects ranging from commercial products to edition production and public design.
