One of his projects is "Objetos de Hojalata para el Hogar," which literally translates to "Tin Objects for the Home." Fabien focused on Hojalata (tin), researched workshops that manufactured them, and built relationships with various artisans to understand the economy that supported the industry. Ultimately, considering manufacturing methods and processes, he began producing specific items he designed in several workshops. "Objetos de Hojalata para el Hogar" is a collection of functional products made for the home, utilizing valuable yet overlooked techniques.
The Watering Cans are one of the first results of this project.
Fabien Cappello
Born in France in 1984, Fabien Cappello is a furniture and product designer. He studied at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, and earned his master's degree from the Royal College of Art in the UK in 2009, under the guidance of Martino Gamper and Jurgen Bey. He opened his own design studio in London in 2010. Since 2016, he has been based in Mexico City, working on a variety of projects ranging from commercial products to limited editions and public design.
