CABANE, meaning "hut" in Japanese, aims to restore the inherent expression and shape of pre-sawn lumber. The wood is first split with a chisel or similar tool into irregular planks (cut along the grain), which are then intuitively assembled without preliminary sketches or pre-conceived designs.

The wood used consists of offcuts and planks of various sizes and species found at local resource recycling centers and carpentry workshops.

Assembly and woodworking are done by hand in a workshop in Mulhouse, Alsace.
