Flanged Bowl S [White]
Tetsuhiro Iwata is a ceramic artist based in Tokyo.
He creates his works using an artificial semi-porcelain clay, which is a blend of porcelain and earthenware, and then applies a glossy, crackle-free transparent glaze. While the pieces have a grayish-white, industrial-product-like, unadorned appearance, the traces of his hands, characteristic of analog techniques, oddly prevent them from feeling cold.
This bowl features a "flange," which in industrial products refers to the rim or collar.
Its generous depth makes it suitable for serving salads, fruits, or even as a rice bowl for main dishes.
