Tetsuhito Iwata is a ceramic artist based in Tokyo.
He creates his pieces using an artificial semi-porcelain clay, a mixture of porcelain and earthenware clay, and applies a glossy clear glaze that doesn't craze. His works feature a grayish-white color and a rugged, industrial-product-like appearance, yet the traces of the human hand from the analog techniques used prevent them from feeling cold.

This bowl features a "flange," which refers to the brim-like part in industrial products.
Its deep shape makes it suitable for serving salads or fruits, and it's also recommended for serving staple foods like rice as a donburi bowl.
