    Tetsuhito Iwata is a ceramist based in Tokyo.
    He creates his works using an artificial semi-porcelain clay, a mixture of porcelain and earthenware clay, coated with a glossy, craze-free clear glaze. While his pieces have a grayish-white, industrial-product-like, unadorned appearance, the traces of his hands, characteristic of analog methods, remain within, creating a strangely warm rather than cold impression.

    Tetsuhito Iwata
    A ceramist based in Tokyo. Born in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture in 1981. After graduating from the Architecture course at Kyoto Seika University, Faculty of Arts in 2004, he worked at an interior shop. In 2014, he entered the Tochigi Prefectural Ceramic Technology Center. From 2016, he studied under Kan Ito in Okayama Prefecture. In 2019, he opened his own kiln in Tokyo.
