    A small spoon by Yohei Nakazato.
    The bowl is shallow, making it a convenient size for yogurt or desserts.

    Yohei Nakazato has an unusual background; after majoring in industrial design at a university in the UK and working for a general company, he began making lacquerware in 2012 as a self-taught artisan. He handles every step of the process himself, from preparing the wood base to applying the undercoat and finishing layers. For the final lacquer, he uses precious domestically produced lacquer from Nagano, which gives the pieces a refined luster and a smooth feel in the mouth. His lacquerware is characterized by a beautiful balance of elegant design and the marks left by his hand carving. He is currently based in Aoki Village, Nagano Prefecture.
