    To commemorate the 400th anniversary of Arita ware, the "2016/" project was launched as a collaboration between Arita, Saga Prefecture, and the Netherlands. New Arita ware was created by 16 groups of designers and 16 kilns and trading companies active both in Japan and internationally.

    German designer Stefan Diez examined the balance of Eastern and Western culinary cultures and developed a tableware series that sets a new standard for modern times. The efficient production process led to many porcelain products becoming commonplace, but he was concerned about standardized production and proposed a modern collection that requires the skills of craftsmen. This series features beautiful tableware with delicate, unbroken lines that extend from the sides to the back, without distortion.
