    "2016/" is a collaborative project between Arita, Saga Prefecture, and the Netherlands, commemorating the 400th anniversary of Arita ware. New Arita ware was created by 16 pairs of designers active both in Japan and overseas, 16 pottery kilns, and trading companies.

    German designer Stefan Diez examined the balance of Eastern and Western food cultures and developed a tableware series that would become a modern standard. As a result of creating efficient production processes, many porcelain products have become nothing special, but he was concerned about standardized production and proposed a modern collection that requires the skills of artisans. This is a series of beautiful tableware with delicate, seamless lines flowing from the sides to the back, free of distortion.
