    The "2016/" project is a collaboration between Arita, Saga Prefecture, and the Netherlands, commemorating the 400th anniversary of Arita ware. Sixteen designers active both in Japan and abroad, along with sixteen kilns and trading companies, have given birth to new Arita ware.

    German designer Stefan Diez examined the balance of Eastern and Western food cultures and developed a tableware series that sets a new modern standard. While efficient production processes have made many porcelain products lose their special quality, he was concerned about standardized production. He proposed a modern collection that requires the skill of artisans. It is a beautiful series of tableware where delicate, distortion-free lines flow seamlessly from the sides to the back.
