This mirror stand was designed in 1997 through a collaboration between Marutomi (Marutomi Lacquerware) in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, and Marco Zanini, who was also a key associate of Ettore Sottsass, the master of Italian design.
The texture unique to resin products and urethane coating, along with its pop coloring, gives it the appearance of an art object, adding an accent to any room.
As it is currently discontinued, only dead stock remains.

Marco Zanini
From 1977, he worked as an assistant to Ettore Sottsass in Milan. In 1981, he became one of the co-founders of Memphis, designing a wide range of collection pieces including ceramics, jewelry, furniture, and blown glass objects. Later, he co-founded Sottsass Associati with Sottsass, serving as design manager for a diverse range of clients both in Italy and internationally, including office furniture and residential interiors for famous brands, showroom interiors, exhibition designs, street furniture, and industrial products.
