This mirror stand was designed in 1997 through a collaboration between Marutomi (Marutomi Lacquerware) in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, and Marco Zanini, a master of Italian design who also served as the right-hand man of Ettore Sottsass.
The texture unique to resin products and urethane coating, along with its pop coloring, gives it the appearance of an art object, adding a striking accent to any room.
As this item is currently discontinued, only dead stock remains.

Marco Zanini
From 1977, he worked as an assistant to Ettore Sottsass in Milan. In 1981, he became one of the co-founders of Memphis, designing a wide range of collection pieces including ceramics, jewelry, furniture, and blown glass objects. Later, he established Sottsass Associati with Sottsass, serving as design manager for a wide range of Italian and international clients, including office furniture for famous brands, residential interiors, showroom interiors, exhibition designs, street furniture, and industrial products.
