    This flower vase was born from a collaboration between Marutomi (Marutomi Lacquerware) of Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, and Ettore Sottsass, a master of Italian design. Sottsass's unique form is so modern that it's hard to believe it was designed in 1997, almost 20 years ago, and simply placing it creates an object-like presence. It is made utilizing the techniques of Echizen lacquerware's commercial-use lacquerware (plastic).
    Since it is now discontinued, only dead stock remains.
