The soup spoon, with its simple, rounded form resembling a softly bent sheet of metal,
can be used not only for cooking but also as a dessert spoon, tea spoon, or even a serving spoon, offering versatile functionality.
The handle is gently curved all the way to the tip, providing sound functionality that is well-suited to the original purpose of a soup spoon.
Indispensable to the Japanese diet, these lacquered chopsticks are made slightly longer than regular chopsticks. There are four types of lacquer finishes: vermillion, "tame-nuri," "makiji" vermillion, and "makiji" black. Both the wooden base and the lacquer finish are meticulously crafted by hand by artisans in Fukui Prefecture.

Carlo Clopath (born 1986) is a Swiss industrial designer.
After studying industrial design at ECAL/University of Art and Design in Lausanne, he worked at Cecilie Manz' Office in Denmark from 2012. In 2013, he participated in an artist-in-residence program at the Statens Værksteder for Kunst art workshop in Copenhagen. He then established his own studio in a Swiss Alpine village, where he is currently active. He has presented numerous projects primarily with artisans, producers, and research institutions in Europe and Japan.
