    SARO is a lifestyle brand born from the changing landscape of Japanese life, from evolving food culture to the increasingly blurred lines between work and home. By drawing inspiration from everyday scenes, SARO creates functional products with a fresh perspective.

    The first installment, FLATWARE COLLECTION 2023, was born from the collaboration between Swiss industrial designer Carlo Clopath and various carefully selected Japanese artisans. This collection comprises 23 pieces that flexibly adapt to modern Japanese dining.

    This versatile renge (Chinese-style spoon) can be used not only for dishes but also as a dessert spoon, a tea spoon, or a serving spoon, allowing for a wide range of uses. The surface is enamel-coated. Its simple, rounded form, like a softly bent sheet of metal, features a gentle curve extending to the tip of the handle, providing reliable functionality perfectly suited for its original purpose. The enamel coating also gives it a smoother feel in the mouth.

    Carlo Clopath (born 1986) is a Swiss industrial designer.
    After studying industrial design at ECAL/University of Art and Design in Lausanne, he joined Cecilie Manz' Office in Denmark in 2012. In 2013, he participated in an artist residency at the Statens Værksteder for Kunst art workshop in Copenhagen. He then established his own studio in a Swiss Alpine village, where he is currently active. He has published numerous projects primarily with artisans and producers in Europe and Japan, as well as with research institutions.
