PARK［ Concrete ］
The multi-purpose plate "PARK", designed by designer Akihiro Kumagai.
The product "PARK" is composed of two "intervals": the "interval" between machine industry and handcraft industry, which is a characteristic of Echizen lacquerware, and the "interval" of uses that a vessel can accommodate. The form of a half-pipe is inspired by the gentle partitions of lacquerware serving dishes and plates. On the dining table, it can be used as a tray, bowl, or plate. Placed around a desk, it neatly holds scattered stationery and glasses. Placed at the entrance, it seems just right as a "fixed place" for keys and accessories. While there are certain ways to use it like this, it sets the stage for "ingenuity = arrangement" born from the user's daily life.

Representative of AK_DD. Since 2007, he has been exploring ways of seeing things, and creating designs and directions from a unique perspective and reconstruction of context. He extracts the composition and materials of objects, and continues to study objects that mediate representation and perception. In 2021, he presented his first solo exhibition "OBJECTS", and continues to create works based on the same theme.
