“PARK” is a multi-purpose plate designed by Akihiro Kumagai.

This product, "PARK," is composed of two "intervals": the "interval" between machine industry and handicraft, which is a characteristic of Echizen lacquerware, and the "interval" of uses that a vessel accommodates. Its half-pipe form is inspired by the gentle division of a lacquerware serving dish or plate. At the dining table, it can be used as a tray, bowl, or plate. Placed around a desk, it neatly holds scattered stationery and glasses. Placed at the entrance, it seems just right as a "fixed place" for keys and accessories. While there are certain ways to use it like this, it sets the stage for "ingenuity = arrangements" that arise from the user's daily life.

Representative of AK_DD. Since 2007, he has explored ways of seeing and engaged in design and direction from his unique perspective and the reconstruction of context. He continues to study objects that extract the composition and materials of things and mediate representation and perception. In 2021, he held his first solo exhibition "OBJECTS," where he presented his work, and has since been creating works based on the same theme.
