STORE Small Oval / Sand
"Japan Creative" is a project aimed at broadly disseminating the excellent aesthetic sense and traditional techniques possessed by Japanese people, both domestically and internationally. From this project, "STORE" was born through a collaboration between Industrial Facility (Sam Hecht & Kim Colin), active in the UK, and Sekisaka Shikki.
"STORE" is a collection of multi-purpose containers that can be used in bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and offices. There are two sizes each for the two designs, round and oval, and this is the small size of the Oval type.
The starting point for the design is the traditional and iconic Japanese lacquerware bowl. "STORE" has a design that extends upward, using the shape of that bowl as its base. The body is made of ABS resin by injection molding, and the lid is made of wood (sen).
"STORE" has become a product that can adapt to modern lifestyles by manipulating traditional forms. It incorporates the best aspects of both the past and present into a single product. From coffee beans to keys, from flour to rubber bands, "STORE" can accommodate all small-scale storage needs in life.
*Only the Round type comes with a silicone gasket; this Oval type does not.

Established in London in 2002, Industrial Facility is a design studio by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin. They have worked on a wide range of designs, from home appliances to furniture and architecture, consistently bringing a "secular perspective" to various designs. They have provided designs for Yamaha, Issey Miyake, Muji, Herman Miller, and more.
