STORE Short Round / Sand
The "Japan Creative" project aims to widely disseminate Japan's excellent aesthetic sense and tradition-rooted techniques both domestically and internationally. From this project, "STORE" was born through a collaboration between Industrial Facility (Sam Hecht & Kim Colin), who are active in the UK, and Sekisaka Shikki.
"STORE" is a collection of multi-purpose containers that can be used in bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and offices. There are two sizes for each of the two designs, round and oval. This is the short size of the round type with a silicone gasket.
The starting point of the design is the traditional and iconic Japanese lacquerware bowl. "STORE" is designed like that bowl shape, extended upwards from the bottom. The body is made of injection-molded ABS resin, and the lid is made of wood (sen); the round type comes with a silicone gasket.
By manipulating traditional forms, "STORE" has become a product that can adapt to modern lifestyles. It incorporates the best aspects of both the past and present into a single product. From coffee beans to keys, from flour to rubber bands, "STORE" can handle all small-scale storage needs in life.
