STORE Short Round / Rock
Japan Creative is a project aimed at widely disseminating Japan's excellent aesthetic sense and traditional techniques both domestically and internationally. "STORE" was born from this project, a collaboration between Industrial Facility (Sam Hecht & Kim Colin), who are active in the UK, and Sekisaka Lacquerware.
"STORE" is a collection of multi-purpose containers that can be used in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and office. There are two sizes for each of the two designs, round and oval, and this particular item is the Round type Short size with a silicone gasket.
The starting point for the design is the traditional and iconic Japanese lacquerware bowl. "STORE" is designed like that bowl shape extended upwards from its base. The body is made of ABS resin by injection molding, and the lid is wooden (sen wood). The round type has a silicone gasket.
By manipulating traditional forms, "STORE" has become a product that can adapt to modern lifestyles. It incorporates the best aspects of both the past and the present into a single product. From coffee beans to keys, flour to rubber bands, "STORE" can accommodate all small-scale storage needs in life.

Established in London in 2002, Industrial Facility is a design studio by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin. They have worked on a wide range of designs, from home appliances to furniture and architecture, always bringing a "secular perspective" to their various designs. They have provided designs for Yamaha, Issey Miyake, Muji, Herman Miller, and others.
