    This is a versatile box that beautifully displays miscellaneous items around the living room and kitchen.
    Utilizing the techniques of Echizen lacquerware's kaku-mono (square-shaped container) making, we devised angles to create a modern and sleek product. The parallelogram shape when viewed from above strikes an exquisite balance, catching the eye without being overly assertive. By disrupting perspective, we create a subtle incongruity in what would ordinarily appear to be a right-angled box. While maintaining a simple appearance, it is an abstract box that, like a picture frame, mysteriously unifies whatever is placed inside.

    Product designer. Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art. Completed the Design Products course at the Royal College of Art. After working at Panasonic Corporation, IDEO London, and Boston offices, he established GEN SUZUKI STUDIO in 2014. With a studio attached to his home, he collaborates with domestic and international companies such as Herman Miller, Casper, and Omron, using an approach that doesn't separate life and design. He has received numerous awards, including the GERMAN DESIGN AWARD Gold, IDEA Gold, and permanent collection at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. He is a part-time lecturer at Tama Art University and Musashino Art University. In 2021, he served as the jury president for the Product Design category of the D&AD Awards.
