Yohei Nakazato possesses a unique background, having specialized in industrial design at a UK university, then working for a general company before embarking on a self-taught journey in lacquerware production in 2012. He independently handles all stages of production, from creating the wooden base to applying the undercoat and the final lacquer. For the finishing lacquer, he uses precious domestically sourced lacquer from Nagano, characterized by its elegant sheen and smooth texture. His lacquerware is beautiful, balancing exquisite design with the hand-carved marks of his craftsmanship. He is currently based in Aoki Village, Nagano Prefecture.
