A remastered edition of Ryuichi Sakamoto's first solo album "out of noise," released in 2009 under the commmons label. The data left as a director's cut by Sakamoto himself has been newly mastered, and the title has been appended with "- R," to be re-released on LP, CD, and digitally! It also includes the previously unreleased track "081121_high."

This is a quiet, entirely instrumental work, and it is the first original solo album to feature no synthesizers whatsoever. Centered around piano and natural sounds, it features guest musicians such as the British early music ensemble Fretwork, sho player Tamami Tono, the Nanto Kōyōkai gagaku ensemble, as well as string players from various genres including Keigo Oyamada, Hirotaka Shimizu, Ren Takada, Christian Fennesz, and Rob Moose. Also included are "disko," "ice," and "glacier," which were strongly influenced by Sakamoto's experiences in the Arctic during the album's production. "glacier" was later used in the film *The Revenant* (directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu: 2016), and "hibari" and "hwit" were used in *Monster* (directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda: 2023).
