Book: Clustered Islands and the Mushrooms
Coinciding with the exhibition "Tove's Perspective," the photobook "Islands, Islets, and Their Mushrooms" was published to coincide with TABF, featuring photographs by Takashi Homma and essays by Keiko Morishita detailing various episodes related to the archipelago. It was pre-released at the TABF venue.
Takashi Homma was deeply moved by the film "Haru, the Island of Solitude," which documented Tove Jansson and Tuulikki Pietilä's life in Klovharu, and in 2016, he published the photobook "A song for windows" (LIBRARYMAN), which compiled photographs taken on that island.
This past September, he revisited the Finnish archipelago with Keiko Morishita, who also coordinated for him at that time, and captured the mushrooms and nature found there. This book includes Homma's newly taken photographs, along with essays by Morishita describing her own experiences in the archipelago and the lives of the islanders, full of playfulness and adventure.
One randomly selected print, cut to cabinet size, of Takashi Homma's exhibited prints from "Tove's Perspective" at TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR 2023 is included.
