    Tetsuhiro Iwata creates pottery based in Tokyo.
    His pieces are made from a semi-porcelain that combines porcelain clay and pottery clay, and are coated with a glossy, crackle-free transparent glaze. While the gray-tinged white and industrial-product-like rugged appearance might seem cold, the traces of his analogue handiwork mysteriously prevent it from feeling that way.

    The rim is thinly finished, emphasizing its lightness. With a capacity of about 200ml when filled to 80%, it's the perfect size for a cup of coffee or tea that can be easily finished.

    Tetsuhiro Iwata
    A ceramic artist based in Tokyo. Born in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture in 1981. After graduating from the Architecture course at Kyoto Seika University's Faculty of Art in 2004, he worked at an interior shop. In 2014, he entered the Tochigi Prefectural Ceramics Training Institute. From 2016, he studied under Tamaki Ito in Okayama Prefecture. In 2019, he established his kiln in Tokyo.
