Edge Plate 5 Sun [White]
Tetsuhiro Iwata is a ceramic artist based in Tokyo.
He creates his pieces using an artificial semi-porcelain, a blend of porcelain clay and earthenware, covered with a glossy clear glaze that doesn't craze. His works feature a grayish-white color and a rugged, industrial aesthetic, yet they exude a curious warmth, retaining traces of the analog handcrafting process.
Iwata's iconic edge plates are characterized by a rim that gently curves inward and upward, creating a unique play of light and shadow. This rim also makes the plate easy to hold and allows users to neatly scoop up food.
These flat plates offer both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.
