    Yohei Nakazato has a unique background; after majoring in industrial design at a British university and working for a general company, he began making lacquerware independently in 2012. He handles all processes himself, from creating the wooden base to applying the undercoat and topcoat. He uses precious domestic lacquer from Nagano for the finishing coats, which contributes to the elegant luster and smooth texture. This lacquerware is characterized by a beautiful balance between its exquisite design and the traces of the hand carving. He is currently based in Aokimura, Nagano Prefecture.
