    The bowl of the spoon is large enough to scoop food well, yet thin enough to have a subtle presence.
    The result is a pleasant finish, with attention paid to details that make it fit comfortably in the hand, and an overall sense of balance.

    Yohei Nakasato has a unique background: after majoring in industrial design at a British university and working for a general company, he taught himself how to make lacquerware starting in 2012. He handles every step of the process himself, from making the wood base to the undercoat and painting. For the finishing lacquer, he uses precious domestically produced lacquer from Nagano, which gives his pieces a refined luster and a smooth feel on the lips. His lacquerware is characterized by a beautiful balance between its elegant design and the marks of his hand-carving. He is currently based in Aoki Village, Nagano Prefecture.
