    Yohei Nakazato is a unique individual who, after majoring in industrial design at a UK university and working for a general company, began self-taught lacquerware production in 2012. He personally handles all processes, from making the wood base to the undercoat and painting. He uses rare domestic lacquer from Nagano for the finish, which gives his pieces an elegant sheen and a smooth feel to the mouth. His lacquerware is beautiful, balancing exquisite designs with the marks of hand carving. He is currently based in Aomura, Nagano Prefecture.
