    A flower vase created through a collaboration between Marutomi (Marutomi Lacquerware) of Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, and the master of Italian design, Ettore Sottsass. This is a highly rare lacquered version. Sottsass's unique form is so modern that it's hard to believe it was designed in 1997, nearly 20 years ago, and it exudes a sculptural presence. It was made using the technology of Echizen lacquerware's commercial lacquerware (plastic).

    The inner material is made of wood resin (a resin mixed with 55% wood powder and 45% phenolic resin) and is lacquered. The lacquer is not hand-painted but applied by spray painting. It is said that only craftsmen with advanced spray painting techniques at the time could achieve such a beautiful finish on such a difficult shape.

    This is a limited collection of deadstock items, so quantities are limited, making it a very rare and valuable piece.
    17 years have passed since Sottsass's death, and these collections are expected to become increasingly valuable.
