The renge, with its simple and rounded form, reminiscent of a gently bent plate,
can be used not only for meals but also as a dessert spoon, tea spoon, or serving spoon, offering versatility for various purposes.
The handle is gently curved all the way to the tip, providing reliable functionality that is well-suited for its original use as a renge.
The lacquer-coated chopsticks, indispensable to the Japanese diet, are made slightly longer than regular chopsticks. There are four types of finishes: vermilion, tamenuri, makiji red, and makiji black. Both the wooden base and the lacquer coating are carefully handcrafted one by one by artisans in Fukui Prefecture.

Carlo Clopath (born 1986), Swiss industrial designer.
After studying industrial design at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, he joined Cecilie Manz' Office in Denmark in 2012. In 2013, he participated in an artist residency at the Statens Værksteder for Kunst in Copenhagen. He then established his own studio in a Swiss Alpine village, where he is currently active. He has presented many projects, primarily with artisans, producers, and research institutions in Europe and Japan.
