    SARO is a lifestyle brand born from the changing landscape of Japanese life, from evolving food culture to the blurring lines between work and home. By drawing inspiration from everyday scenes, SARO creates functional products with a fresh perspective.

    The first installment, the FLATWARE COLLECTION 2023, was born from the collaboration between carefully selected Japanese artisans from various fields and Swiss industrial designer Carlo Clopath. It is a collection of 23 pieces that flexibly adapt to the diverse modern Japanese diet.

    This chestnut wood spatula is hand-shaped by artisans. In addition to a handle length that is easy for cooking, the slightly curved tip makes it easy to scoop food, and it can also be used as a serving spoon.

    Designed by Carlo Clopath
    Swiss industrial designer, Carlo Clopath (born 1986).
    After studying industrial design at ECAL/University of Art and Design in Lausanne, he joined Cecilie Manz' Office in Denmark in 2012. In 2013, he participated in an artist residency at the Statens Værksteder for Kunst, an art workshop in Copenhagen. Afterward, he established his own studio in a Swiss Alpine village and has been active there ever since. He has published numerous projects, primarily with artisans and producers in Europe and Japan, as well as research institutions.
