    Shuhei Narita, who creates pottery in Aichi Prefecture, makes yakishime-ware. His pieces are crafted using a technique called "tamatsukuri" (a type of hand-building), where he forms the clay mass in his hands. After various processes such as scraping, polishing, applying iron oxide, and slip, the pieces are fired. Then, a thin layer of lacquer is applied and baked on to create a unique texture. Please enjoy the endearing shapes, formed by hand, and the distinctive expressions.

    Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1989. After graduating from Nagoya Gakugei University, he completed his studies at the Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center in 2017. He is currently based in Aichi Prefecture, where he creates pottery.
